Seen Better Days Series

‘Seen better days’ is about pushing through the tough days with hope that they will get better. I was moved to create these works in a weekend-frenzy knowing that Monday would be the start of many long days for the foreseeable future. This series is a reminder to just keep going. It’s about accepting the shitty days knowing that each one is building you into the person you’re meant to be and preparing you for the promises that God has spoken over your life. It shows you there is a blessing in each day. And it’s an ode to the Bible verse that anchors me daily in good times and bad:

“let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season, we shall reap if we faint not”

Galatians 6:9

Hello!

My name is Unique Hodge. I am a NYC-based visual artist obsessed with representing human emotions, expressions and experiences through my chosen mediums: watercolor and oil paint.

I am inspired by nature, my loved ones, my culture, and most importantly, my faith. I am driven by creating work that is relatable to those who feel excluded from the ‘art world’. I hope that by sharing my journey—successes, failures, and all—I can inspire others to believe in their own creative potential.

Thank you for seeing me!
